Once worn by samurai and tea masters, Setta is a symbol of Japanese craftsmanship and timeless elegance.A traditional footwear that carries centuries of culture, refined through simplicity, comfort, and artisanal skill.

Materials

• Thong Strap (Hanao): Cowhide Leather

• Footbed (Upper Surface): Cowhide Leather

• Sole: EVA

• Toe Post: Himilon (soft short-pile fabric)

 

The cowhide leather used in KURo Setta is finished with ultra-fine European pigments, creating a rich depth and transparency while maintaining excellent resistance to fading and color transfer. It is characterized by its supple texture, smooth touch, and refined appearance.

The leather offers a natural look that is instantly recognizable as genuine leather, featuring elegance, character, a subtle natural aroma, and a luxurious feel.

We also support the initiative of Thinking Leather Action, promoting the responsible use of hides by transforming them into long-lasting leather products rather than allowing valuable resources to go to waste.

How to Wear Setta

​

Traditionally, Setta are worn with the heel extending slightly beyond the sole (approximately 1–3 cm), with the toes lightly hooked into the hanao strap.

For a more contemporary style, the toes may be inserted deeper into the toe post for a secure fit.

As Setta naturally conform to the unique shape and movement of the wearer’s feet over time, the initial fitting is especially important.

Care & Usage Notes

​

With a brand-new pair of Setta, the toe post may feel slightly tight at first. As the leather softens and molds to your feet through regular wear, the fit will become increasingly comfortable.

Please note that the dyed leather used in the Setta may transfer color to socks or other materials due to moisture, perspiration, or friction. This is a natural characteristic of genuine leather and should be taken into cnsideration during use.​​
